Our MissionIt is the purpose of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc., to preserve and encourage that four part, a acapella, close harmony style known as Barbershop! To this end, the mission of the Norfolk Chapter is to promote public performance of four part male, a acapella harmony in the American Barbershop style by:
In so doing, we shall conduct ourselves in a spirit and fellowship and harmony, whereby friendship may flourish and Chapter growth encouraged. We Sing That They Shall Speak!
Chorus ProfileThe Commodore Chorus of Hampton Roads is a dynamic chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA), which boasts more than 35.000 members throughout the world. Our chapter has been in existence for more than 40 years and is a significant part of the history and heritage of barbershop harmony in the Southern Division of the Mid-Atlantic District.
